Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, customer experience, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion pet parent service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, reviews, and engagement; foster an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver exceptional service; conduct compliance walks; handle escalations and events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; maintain inventory; oversee opening/closing procedures.
Experience & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred (experience)
Responsibilities
- Oversee all store operations including people leadership, pet parent experience, and financial performance
- Recruit, hire, coach, and develop store associates while managing schedules and performance reviews
- Ensure safety of associates, pets, and customers through compliance checks, camera reviews, and incident response
- Drive sales and profitability by executing corporate strategies and analyzing business metrics
- Lead exceptional customer service, handle escalations, and foster community partnerships
- Conduct store walks, maintain inventory levels, and uphold company policies and ethics
