Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business outcomes in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health, deliver outstanding pet parent service, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and oversee opening/closing procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, pet care knowledge, and the ability to empower teams in a fast-paced setting. Passion for pets and proven results in sales growth are essential.
