Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
  • Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; conduct monthly walks; monitor compliance via cameras; manage inventory and events.
  • Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and operational excellence.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team motivation, conflict resolution, inventory control, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Passion for pets and community involvement is a plus.

Benefits

  • Handle opening/closing procedures and emergency pet care
