Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, expertise in customer service, operations, and financial metrics. Passion for pets, problem-solving, and adaptability to flexible schedules are essential. Proficiency in compliance, inventory tools, and fostering engagement sets top performers apart.
