Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop associates, conduct reviews, and foster open-door engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; deliver exceptional service; resolve concerns; lead events and adoption partnerships.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct safety walks, review cameras, enforce policies, and prioritize pet welfare including vet transport.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, evaluate processes, and drive continuous improvement.

- Build high-engagement team culture through recognition, training, and feedback
- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, conduct safety walks, and maintain policy compliance
- Drive store standards, community events, and adoption partnerships
- Monitor cameras, address risks, and ensure pet welfare including vet transport
