Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive company culture, achieve targets, and ensure exceptional service while maintaining compliance and empowering your team.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop associates, conduct reviews, and foster engagement through recognition and open communication.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
- Operations & Safety: Prioritize safe environments, review cameras for coaching, handle sick pets, and execute opening/closing procedures.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, and passion for pets. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, financial acumen, and operational efficiency. Experience in pet retail preferred.

- Lead operational execution including scheduling, events, and community partnerships
- Monitor financial outcomes, conduct safety walks, and review store cameras for accountability
- Foster company culture through associate engagement, recognition, and development
