Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, terminate; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements.
- Store Experience: Lead associate and pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety; resolve concerns; improve processes; partner on events; maintain standards via monthly walks.
- Operations & Safety: Prioritize safe environments; manage inventory; communicate objectives; review cameras for coaching; handle sick/injured pets with immediate vet transport.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building, customer service, and financial skills. Passion for pets, ability to delegate, adapt to change, and foster engagement essential. Experience in pet retail, HR functions, and compliance preferred.
