Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, and succession planning.
- Build open-door culture, respond to associate feedback, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-store, online, and via phone; resolve escalations.
- Ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, review cameras, and manage sick/injured pets.
- Maintain inventory levels, operational standards, and compliance with policies and ethics.
- Communicate objectives, prioritize safety, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership, customer service passion, and pet care knowledge. Key skills include team development, financial acumen, conflict resolution, and process improvement. Experience in high-volume retail environments is a plus.
