Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; maintain standards, inventory, and safety protocols; review cameras for accountability.
- Business Management: Drive profitability and corporate goals; analyze performance metrics; optimize processes; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and customer-centric operations. Proficiency in inventory systems, scheduling, and compliance is essential. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
