Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and oversee events with adoption partners.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and motivation, strong customer service focus, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational efficiency, and compliance expertise. Flexible availability is essential.
