Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all aspects of store operations, including team leadership, pet parent experiences, safety, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and operational excellence in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster engagement, and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and associates; manage pet parent interactions, events, and compliance via walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize inventory, and communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting. Pet care knowledge is a plus.
