Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted outcomes, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and foster engagement through recognition and open communication.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and respond to concerns while prioritizing a safe, welcoming environment.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, P&L accountability, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer obsession, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands.
