Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, champion superior service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize processes, communicate objectives, and maintain compliance with policies and ethics.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, expertise in team development and customer service, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Proficiency in operations, safety protocols, and driving results in dynamic environments is essential.
