Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, review cameras for risks, and handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies, analyze metrics for profitability, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, customer service, and operational efficiency. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
