Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle escalations; lead monthly walks; maintain compliance; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute strategies for profitability; communicate objectives; review cameras for safety; respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, financial oversight, and pet retail knowledge. Key skills include delegation, problem-solving, process improvement, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.
