Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; execute corporate strategies; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in team development, customer service, and P&L accountability. Passion for pets, adaptability, and commitment to safety/compliance are essential. Experience with inventory systems and HR processes preferred.
