Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an engaged team.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute strategies for profitability, optimize inventory, communicate objectives, and lead events with community partners.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, operations, and financials. Key skills include effective delegation, associate engagement, process improvement, and a genuine love for pets. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
