Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; manage escalations; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance and inventory standards; oversee openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; review cameras for safety and coaching.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, operational efficiency, and customer-centric problem-solving. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
