Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all store functions including safety, pet parent experience, operations, finances, and HR. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage escalations; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; maintain inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance; lead events and partnerships; communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Passion for pets and customer obsession required.
