Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution in a fast-paced retail environment focused on pets.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance; prioritize safety for associates, pets, and parents; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review cameras for accountability; handle store opening/closing.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Must thrive in flexible schedules and excel at fostering engagement.
