Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, recognize achievements, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver exceptional service in-person, phone, or online; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions; handle openings/closings and vet transports as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
