Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute strategies for profitability, communicate objectives, and lead events with community partners like adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and expertise in sales driving, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential.
