Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and foster an open-door culture with feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, monitor inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in team motivation, financial oversight, and customer-centric problem-solving. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.

- Conduct store walks, monitor compliance with policies, and maintain inventory levels
- Drive profitability through strategic execution and community event partnerships
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers with proactive risk assessments
