Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and associate development to build high-engagement teams.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and foster a positive environment through events and partnerships.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, monitor safety via cameras, and respond to operational needs like pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, proficiency in financial oversight and inventory control, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
