Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and respond to feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain policy compliance, prioritize safety, communicate objectives, and take action on sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Must excel in delegation, problem-solving, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.
