Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain compliance; partner on events and adoption groups.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; manage inventory; communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and customer service. Must excel in multitasking, problem-solving, and creating positive cultures.
