Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by driving culture, achieving results, and delivering exceptional service while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster engagement, and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize processes, and collaborate on events with adoption partners.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in retail management, proven leadership in team building and sales growth, strong customer service focus, and pet industry knowledge.
