Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and respond to feedback.
• Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle escalations; lead events and adoption partnerships; conduct safety walks and camera reviews.
• Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and ensure policy compliance.

Experience & Skills

Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, and pet industry knowledge. Must excel in delegation, financial oversight, conflict resolution, and fostering engagement. Experience with scheduling, performance reviews, and safety protocols preferred.
