Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; address grievances and boost engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and by phone; conduct safety walks, manage inventory, review cameras, and handle sick pets.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, optimize processes, partner on events, and communicate objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership to build high-performing teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.
