Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and foster an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage customer interactions, events, and compliance through monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Drive profitability by executing strategies, analyzing performance, managing inventory, and communicating objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, scheduling, and adaptability to flexible hours. Pet care knowledge is a plus.
