Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving business goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
• Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and events; prioritize safety via camera reviews and incident response.
• Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; optimize processes for efficiency.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, scheduling, compliance enforcement, and data-driven decision-making. Flexibility for days, nights, and weekends is essential.
