Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and manage associates; build an open-door culture; create schedules; facilitate development, reviews, and recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; oversee openings/closings and risk assessments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in a dynamic retail setting required.
