Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted outcomes, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster open communication, and drive engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Oversee pet safety and health, deliver outstanding customer service, manage escalations, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and ensure policy compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, optimize inventory, lead events, and collaborate with leadership for operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L responsibility, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include strategic delegation, data-driven decision-making, conflict resolution, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
