Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, recognize achievements, and build an open-door culture using associate feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance metrics, execute corporate strategies, and partner on in-store events and community adoption initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L accountability, and customer service. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and a passion for pets. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
