Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle escalations; lead events and compliance walks; manage inventory and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; cascade objectives; adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering engagement in dynamic environments.
