Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive exceptional service, and execute strategies that deliver outstanding results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, and terminations while fostering an open-door culture.
- Deliver outstanding store experiences ensuring pet safety, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining high standards.
- Optimize operations through inventory management, compliance walks, safety monitoring via cameras, and process improvements.
- Drive financial success by communicating objectives, managing labor, and achieving sales targets.
- Build community partnerships, host events, and support adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Successful candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team development, customer service expertise, and pet care knowledge. Key skills include financial oversight, conflict resolution, training/mentoring, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting. Passion for pets and ability to inspire teams are essential.
