Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and team empowerment in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, community events, and compliance with policies via monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Analyze performance metrics, execute corporate strategies, manage inventory, and achieve profitability goals through root cause analysis and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, P&L accountability, and customer service. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, financial acumen, and a genuine passion for pets. Flexibility for varied shifts and commitment to safety/compliance are essential.
