Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
• Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; maintain store standards; conduct safety walks; manage inventory and events; review cameras for compliance.
• Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; optimize processes for sales and efficiency.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets.
