Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, deliver exceptional service, and execute strategies to uphold our vision, mission, and values while achieving targeted business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, and maintain compliance with policies.
- Business Management: Analyze performance data, execute corporate strategies, manage inventory, and drive profitability through operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, financial oversight, and a genuine love for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering empowerment. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
