Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; handle reviews, grievances, and engagement initiatives.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; lead pet parent interactions and resolve concerns.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct monthly walks, review cameras, enforce policies, and oversee openings/closings.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, evaluate processes, partner on events, and drive continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet industry knowledge, and expertise in sales driving, HR, and operations. Must excel in communication, problem-solving, and fostering empowerment.
