Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, deliver exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; manage complaints; conduct walks for policy compliance; oversee inventory and store standards; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions; handle openings/closings.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
