Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and foster an exceptional environment while ensuring compliance and pet well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and build engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure safety for pets and people, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Must thrive in dynamic environments with flexible availability.
