Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and foster an exceptional environment while ensuring compliance and pet well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and build engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure safety for pets and people, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, problem-solving, and flexibility for varied shifts. Passion for pets and commitment to safety are essential.
