Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Review cameras for safety; handle sick pets; collaborate on events and community partnerships; communicate objectives and adapt to changes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership, customer service passion, financial savvy, and pet care enthusiasm. Key skills include team motivation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.
