Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, maintain standards, and conduct monthly safety walks and camera reviews.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and partner on events like adoption drives. Respond to pet health issues with immediate vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, and expertise in operations and customer service. Proficiency in HR functions, financial oversight, and fostering engagement is essential. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment required.
