Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze metrics; execute corporate strategies; communicate objectives to team leaders.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and pet care, financial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and compliance with safety protocols.
