Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and foster an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and oversee openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, communicate objectives, partner on events, and maintain policy compliance through audits and coaching.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership to empower teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.
