Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all aspects of store operations, including team leadership, pet parent experiences, safety, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for associates, pets, and customers in our Elk Grove location.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and foster an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies, analyze financials, optimize operations, and partner on community events for profitability and growth.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L management. Key skills include strong communication, problem-solving, pet passion, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Experience with adoption events and inventory systems is a plus.
