Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an engaged team.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct compliance walks, oversee inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance metrics, execute corporate strategies, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L accountability, and skills in team motivation, operational efficiency, and customer-centric problem-solving. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
