Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies, deliver exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; conduct compliance walks; manage inventory; review security footage; partner on events and adoptions.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership abilities, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include team building, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
